Withdrawal, Returns and Defects

Last updated: 18 June 2026

This policy applies to orders placed through the reformé online shop. It explains when products may be withdrawn from or returned, when returns are excluded, and how we handle potential defects.

This policy applies to purchased products. Separate terms may apply to free test samples, prototypes, preproduction samples or influencer samples.

1. Statutory Right of Withdrawal

Consumers generally have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days.

The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, received the goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us clearly within the withdrawal period that you wish to withdraw from the purchase contract.

You may notify us of your withdrawal by email or letter, for example.

Contact:

Email: support@reformesports.com

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notice of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.

2. Effects of Withdrawal

If you validly withdraw from the contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered by us.

We will not reimburse any additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery option offered by us.

Reimbursement will be made no later than 14 days after the day on which we receive your notice of withdrawal.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods or until you have provided evidence that you have returned the goods.

We will use the same means of payment for the reimbursement as you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise. You will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

You must return the goods no later than 14 days after the day on which you informed us of your withdrawal.

You bear the direct cost of returning the goods unless expressly agreed otherwise.

3. Returns of Unfitted and Unworn Products

A return is generally possible if the reformé Shield:

  1. has not been heat fitted

  2. has not been worn

  3. has not been washed

  4. has not been damaged

  5. is returned in full

  6. is returned with any accessories, instructions and packaging components supplied with it

Before heat fitting, you may inspect the product, particularly its size, completeness and visible condition.

Heat fitting itself goes beyond a mere inspection because it shapes the shin guard individually and permanently alters it.

4. Heat Fitted, Worn or Damaged Products

The reformé Shield is supplied flat and is designed to be fitted individually to the user’s leg through a controlled heating process.

Once the shin guard has been heated, shaped, worn or washed, a regular return is no longer possible.

This is because heat fitting shapes the shin guard individually, alters its original condition and means it can no longer be sold as new.

If you nevertheless exercise a statutory right of withdrawal after heat fitting, we reserve the right to require compensation for the resulting loss in value.

For products that have been individually shaped, worn, damaged or can no longer be sold as new, this compensation may amount to the full purchase price. In such cases, there may be no refund remaining.

Statutory rights in respect of defects remain unaffected.

5. Inspection Before Heat Fitting

The reformé Shield must be inspected carefully before heat fitting.

In particular, please check whether any of the following is visible:

  1. cracks

  2. holes

  3. openings in the outer shell

  4. delamination

  5. material separation

  6. severe deformation

  7. shipping damage

  8. any other visible damage

If any such issue is visible, the shin guard must not be heated, shaped or worn.

In this case, contact us before fitting and send clear photographs of the product.

If the shin guard is heated, shaped or worn despite visible irregularities, it may be difficult or impossible to determine the subsequent cause of damage.

6. Damage Caused by Improper Fitting

The reformé Shield may be fitted only in accordance with the instructions supplied.

In particular, the shin guard must not be:

  1. folded

  2. twisted

  3. bent against the intended direction of curvature

  4. forcibly bent or twisted while flat

  5. overheated

  6. shaped without following the instructions

  7. fitted using unsuitable tools or force

Improper fitting may cause cracks, holes or openings in the TPU outer shell. In such cases, core material may become visible or escape.

If cracks, holes, openings or escaping core material are found after heat fitting, the shin guard must not be used any further.

Once heat fitting has been completed, certain types of damage may make it impossible to determine reliably whether the damage was already present before fitting or was caused by folding, twisting, overheating or other handling contrary to the instructions.

Damage caused by improper heat fitting, incorrect handling, overheating, folding, twisting, incorrect storage or use contrary to the instructions does not constitute a defect in the goods and is not covered by statutory liability for defects.

7. Personalised Products

Personalised products are excluded from the right of withdrawal.

This applies particularly to reformé Shield products featuring:

  1. customer initials

  2. names

  3. player numbers

  4. club logos

  5. custom logos

  6. individual graphics

  7. other customer specific designs

Personalised products are manufactured to customer specifications and clearly tailored to the customer’s personal requirements.

The exclusion applies only to products personalised on the basis of a customer selection or instruction. Standard designs offered without an individual customer instruction are not considered personalised products solely for that reason.

Personalised products cannot be returned and orders for them cannot be withdrawn from, unless the product has a defect recognised by law.

Statutory rights in respect of defects remain unaffected.

8. Defects and Statutory Rights

The customer’s statutory rights in respect of defects remain unaffected.

If a product is defective upon delivery, arrives damaged or does not conform to the agreed characteristics, we will review the case.

In this event, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide the following information:

  1. order number

  2. description of the problem

  3. photographs of the product

  4. photographs of the packaging if shipping damage is suspected

  5. confirmation of whether the shin guard has already been heated, shaped, worn or washed

If a valid defect exists, we will provide a remedy in accordance with statutory requirements. Depending on the circumstances, this may take the form of a replacement delivery or another remedy provided by law.

9. No Liability for Defects in the Event of Improper Use

In particular, damage caused by the following is not considered a defect:

  1. improper heat fitting

  2. folding or twisting the shin guard

  3. forcibly bending it while flat

  4. bending it against the intended direction of curvature

  5. overheating

  6. storage above 50 °C

  7. storage in direct sunlight, on radiators, on hot surfaces or in hot vehicles

  8. use outside its intended use in football

  9. use without proper retention

  10. modification, cutting, attempted repair or other interference by the customer

  11. normal wear and tear

  12. damage following a severe impact or improper loading

  13. failure to follow the instructions for use

10. Return Shipping Costs

Following a valid withdrawal, you bear the direct cost of returning the goods where permitted by law and unless expressly agreed otherwise.

In the event of a valid defect, we bear the necessary cost of providing the statutory remedy.

Please do not return products to us with postage payable by the recipient. Such returns may incur additional costs.

11. Refund Following Inspection of the Return

Once we receive the return, we inspect the condition of the goods.

The inspection is generally completed within 3 to 5 working days of receipt of the return.

The refund is then made using the original payment method.

Where products are returned without having been heat fitted, worn, washed or damaged, and are complete, we will reimburse the full amount due in accordance with statutory requirements.

Where products have been heat fitted, worn, washed, damaged or can no longer be sold as new, we reserve the right to deduct reasonable compensation for loss of value from the refund.

For individually shaped products or products that can no longer be used commercially, this compensation may amount to the full purchase price.

12. Important Notice Before Fitting

Please inspect your reformé Shield carefully before beginning the heat fitting process.

If you find cracks, holes, openings, delamination, shipping damage or any other irregularities, do not heat or shape the shin guard.

Contact us first and provide photographs of the product.

After heat fitting, the shin guard is individually shaped. A regular return is then no longer possible.

13. Model Withdrawal Form
